German artist Wolfgang E. Herbst was born in Weißstein in 1935. He worked as a proofreader for various publications, before pursuing vocal studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich. He subsequently followed a course in free graphics at the Art Academy in Düsseldorf. Herbst has published around 70 artbooks, using his own press. His work is held in private and public collections, including the Stadtmuseum Düsseldorf, Kunstmuseum Düsseldorf and the Conrad Kurz Foundation Meißen. Artist’s website: www.weherbst.de
