Peter Lazarov was born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, in 1958. He graudated in Imitative Arts, Printmaking and Graphic Techniques from Univerzitet Sv. Kiril i Metódij in 1980, where he subsequently was an Associate Professor in the Printmaking School during 1989-1990. Lazarov has been living in The Netherlands since 1990. Virtually unknown in his home country, he is one of a tiny handful of living artists represented in the official collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
