German artist Hans Sagmeister was born in Samerberg in 1946. He initially trained and worked as a secondary school teacher in Prien am Chiemsee. Painting and drawing since childhood, he further developed his craft by studying with Johann Rieder and Heinz Künast. Hans is particularly interested in stylistic features from all eras and his own style is characterised by many elements of all epochs, freely applied depending on the topic. He has a critical view of humanity in our time and is intrigued by the interaction of literature and music. Hans has held numerous solo exhibitions from Innsbruck to Munich and has participated in an exhibition in Satrouville, Paris. Since 2010 his interpretation of “Winterreise” has featured in performances in Zangberg, Bad Aibling, Waldkraiburg, Thansau and Munich.
